Places I want to go, number 6.
The Murano Glass Factories, Murano, Italy.
The place that makes possibly the most famous glass in the world, the factory has an interesting history, including the family being held in such high esteem in the 14th century that they had immunity against prosecution by the State. The glass can be found in shops all over the world but nothing would be like seeing it in the real workshop.
I really like watching glass blowing in general, even if it’s crappy glass by an amateur, so seeing Murano Glass blown would be amazing.
Plus, I could stop in Venice on the way there and take a gondola down a canal and eat some pizza, because I really miss Italian pizza. It’s the best.
